The Coventry and District Osteoporosis Support Group was formed in September 2004. We hold regular public information meetings but do not have membership to the group itself, as we encourage our audiences to join the national organisation.

Meeting venue: Unless stated on each dated event in the programme

St John the Baptist Church Hall, corner Spon Street and Corporation Street, Coventry, CV1 3AY

Bus stops FC and FG are nearby. There is on street disabled parking. Maps are available on request.

All meetings are open to the general public: the admission fee is usually £3.00 including refreshments.

We do not have membership to the group.  We encourage everyone at a meetings to join the National Osteoporosis Society, the only UK organisation dedicated to supporting people with osteoporosis and their carers.

Our aims are:

    • to offer support to people with osteoporosis, their families and carers;

    • promote local exercise classes to improve bone health;

    • raise awareness of osteoporosis and bone health among people of all ages by giving talks to local organisations and giving assemblies and in-class support in local primary schools;

    • fundraise for research into osteoporosis, to increase understanding of the disease and improve treatment options and patient care;

    • work with health care professionals to facilitate greater understanding of the needs of people with osteoporosis;

    • lobby for local improvements in osteoporosis diagnosis and treatment.
