Meetings are held at Holy Trinity Community Church Hall, Lysander Road, Yeovil at 7:30pm.  Free entry, disabled facilities, good parking and refreshments available


Held by a registered physiotherapist on Wednesday afternoons 2-3pm (for a small charge)

The National Osteoporosis Society is not in a position to formally recommend any specific exercise classes, but we are happy to let you know about classes – such as the ones above – which are happening locally and which may be suitable for your needs.

Orange day at Yeovil District Hospital

On October 20th there was a cake sale for Orange Day at Yeovil District Hospital.
As usual Sister Clare Cockill, Osteoporosis and Fracture Liaison Specialist Nurse entered into the spirit of the day and once again was dressed in Orange, a different costume each year.
Special Guest Val Stone (appeared on the recent Great British Bake Off) bringing along some wonderful cakes that reflected the event.

Val was a former Head teacher who now lives near Yeovil. Aged 15 she took over the family baking and has stayed at the helm of the kitchen for 50 years.
Val entered the Bake Off Competition and became a fan favourite.

Charity Cookery event

”Yeovil & District support group helped their Patron Lesley Waters to hold a charity cookery event at her wonderful cookery school in Dorset on 18th February. Lesley did two demonstrations of “stress-free cookery" for 30 people each time, and everyone was able to try the dishes cooked afterwards.

An amazing total of £1100 was raised for the NOS and the support group."

10th Anniversary Celebrations

A Tai Chi demonstration was the event at the Group meeting on May 25th.The turn out was excellent, the best this year. The talk and demonstration was carried out by John Hough who runs three classes of Tai  Chi. The people helping with the demonstration also attend one of John’s sessions, two of them are committee members.
