Nottingham Support Group

The Nottingham Osteoporosis Support Group offers essential support and information to those affected by Osteoporosis and all others who are interested.

We do this by:

    • Presentations and Talks

    • Health and Well-being advice

    • Fundraising Events

    • Social Activities

Tea Dance – Thursdays, 1.30pm until 4pm

Venue: Sherwood Community Centre, Mansfield Road, Sherwood, NG5 3FM

We help organise a Tea Dance on a weekly basis at the Sherwood Community Centre, there is an excellent bus service here and plenty of free parking. Admission costs £2.50 and this includes Tea and Biscuits. All members and non-members are welcome to join us and there will be a mixture of Sequence, Line Dancing and Ballroom. Please come along and support us, there are representatives from the group in attendance and you are welcome if you just want to come along and have a chat. On the first Wednesday of each month, Committee Members of the Nottingham Support Group attend
Prof. Opinder Sahota’s Clinic No 2 at the Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, with the full range of NOS leaflets etc. They are happy to give support to osteoporosis patients, both newly diagnosed and existing patients.  Further information from Moira Holmes Tel: 0115 9118218

Volunteers needed We would like to make an appeal for new committee members and helpers to the group. If you, or someone you know, has an interest in Osteoporosis, has a few hours a month to spare and would like to make a difference, increase personal satisfaction, have fun, meet new people and make new friends we would love to hear from you. Please either come along to one of our events (details above and below) or contact us on the details below to find out more. We need your help to continue the group.

Nottingham Osteoporosis Support Group

Extends an invitation to you

Please join us at our Annual Open Meeting to be held in Lecture Theatre 1 on A Floor of the Medical School at QMC Hospital, Derby Road, Nottingham, NG7 2UH.

You will be updated on the latest developments in the treatment of Osteoporosis. Our focus this year will be around duration of bone medication, the benefits of vitamin D and we will also approach dental concerns.

Meet with us on Tuesday 25th April 2017

Time: 7.00pm until 9.00pm

Venue: The Lecture Theatre 1 on A Floor of the Medical School, doors open from 6.30pm so you can enjoy complimentary tea, coffee & biscuits and a chat beforehand – no need to book, just come along and bring a friend. The Medical School is situated just beside the tram stop. If you are travelling by car, the Medical School car park will have free parking.

Other Events 2017

The Nottingham Group will also be taking our stall along to the Nottingham Orthopaedic Walk on Sunday 11th June 2017 at Highfields Park & Boating Lake, University Campus, Nottingam.

Everyone will be welcome at this free event which will start at 11.00am.

The group we will be taking their stall along to the Nottingham Older Persons Information and Advice event in Nottingham, Old Market Square on Tuesday 13th June 2017 between 10am and 3pm.

Anyone who would like to come along and see the full range of NOS leaflets, and also have a chat to one of our Committee Members will be made welcome.
