Duchess of Cornwall meets charity members at filming of Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special
27 Nov 2017
Members of the National Osteoporosis Society were honored to be invited to Buckingham Palace by our President Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall this week, to take part in a tea dance filmed for the BBC’s forthcoming Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special.
The event was hosted by The Duchess to highlight the benefits for older people of staying active.
The Duchess, who was greeted by Strictly judge and National Osteoporosis Society Ambassador Craig Revel Horwood, spent time talking to our members and other guests and watched the Strictly professional dancers perform a special festive routine.
The National Osteoporosis Society members who attended the special event are all keen dancers, despite living with osteoporosis. They had a fantastic time, meeting the Duchess and dancing with the programme’s presenters and judges.
The Strictly Come Dancing special is due to be broadcast on BBC1 on Christmas day.
