Countdown to World Osteoporosis Day

18 Oct 2017

There’s just two days to go until World Osteoporosis Day and, here at the National Osteoporosis Society, we’ve been busy through our A Message to My Younger Self campaign spreading the word and encouraging people to start important conversations about bone health.

Our campaign received a boost today after The Daily Telegraph featured a great article about the message our President, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall, has sent to her younger self.

The Duchesses’ message aims to encourage young people to act now to build bone strength while they still have the opportunity and protect their bones in older age.

We’ve also continued to receive hundreds of messages for our wonderful supporters, all offering crucial advice about the importance role a balanced diet and an active lifestyle play in building strong bones.

If you’ve not already sent in your own message to your younger self, it’s not too late to take part. You can share your message by visiting our A Message to My Younger Self webpages.

You can also help spread the word about nutrition and exercise by continuing, or starting, the conversation about bone health with your family and friends.

A great way to do this is by sharing our advice articles on nutrition and exercise or supporting the campaign on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
