Invitation to tender for the provision of audit services
29 Jun 2018
The National Osteoporosis Society is seeking applications from audit firms who wish to tender to audit our finances.
Due to our size, we are required by law to have our finances audited by an independent auditor. The tender process will help us to get the best value for donors' money from our audit services.
An audit makes sure the charity's financial statements are properly prepared and compliant with the necessary legislation. Auditors may also suggest ways for the charity to improve the way it works, helping us use our resources more wisely.
At the end of every year, the charity publishes its financial statements. The statements say how much money we raised - thanks to the generosity of our supporters - and how we used those funds. It also demonstrates that we are are complying with legislation.
As we've used the same auditors for the past 10 years, it's important that we now go out to tender to ensure that we continue to get the best level of service and value. We are seeking a number of audit firms to tender, and expect this to also include our current auditors.
Interested audit firms must submit their application to tender by 10:00 on Wednesday 18 July. Shortlisted firms will be invited to present in Camerton on Monday 13 August, and formal confirmation of our selection will be made by the Board of Trustees on Thursday 13 September.
